Sports for Kids - Ace Tennis Academy

Athletic Development

Ace Tennis Academy Inc.’s new Athlete in Training program focuses on the development of sports skills, physical literacy, fitness, nutritional, and mental skills of healthy athletes in a safe non-competitive environment. Our goal is to create athletes that will be active for life.

Each program is a maximum of 6 weeks and can include various combinations of the following:

Morning programs 7:00 - 8:15am

In this program, athletes will be increasing their stamina, strength and flexibility in a way that is fun while minimizing injury and detering bad habits. Throughout the course of this 6 week program, individuals will improve their physical abilities within different sport settings and learn how to participate in formal competition.

Afternoon programs: 3:45 - 5:45pm

Afternoons begin inside our facility, where the importance of time management and punctuality is highlighted. During this time, athletes are encouraged to use their time to complete homework, socialize with friends, and have a snack and hydrate. Coaches during this time may help athletes with homework if needed, or assist them in any way necessary. After this time, coaches will bring all athletes together and give a short lesson on the different aspects of athletic development, and how we properly use our bodies in an athletic setting. Topics such as nutrition, hydration, recovery, fairplay, sportsmanship, and mental preparation will be addressed every day.

Next the athletes will move outside or to a gym area to begin learning important sports skills for the program they have registered for. Each of these development sessions will always start with a warm-up and end with a cool down, which will teach the athletes static and dynamic stretches which help prevent injuries. Coaches will use a play based model where fundamental movement skills will be correlated to the skills and techniques of each sport.

At 5:30 all of the athletes will be back in the indoor common room where they may decide to play a game of foosball, play some ping pong, or just socialize with friends.

Day Camps: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

These camps are a great way to try something new and exciting. They will include learning the skills of two different sports interspersed with age appropriate active games and table games.  Make sure to pack an extra big lunch for these camps as movement is the focus of the day.

Sports Camps: Christmas Break and Spring Break - 8:00am - 5:00pm

Just like our summer sports camps these weeks are programmed with a balance of sports, games, activities, and free play time. We guarantee an abundance of sports which may include (but are not limited to) basketball, soccer, ball hockey, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, dodgeball, handball, and wildball. The athlete will be kept active, introduced to many sports, and have a bundle of fun.
